Slack

Channel updates, link previews, and a message shortcut that files a task.

GitHub

Pull requests show on the task they mention, with their state.

Work comes in

Email-to-task and public request forms create tasks for you.

Build your own

A REST API with personal tokens and HMAC-signed webhooks.

Slack

Connect a Slack workspace from Settings → Integrations and pick a channel. Taskeni posts the updates you choose (new tasks, moves, completions, and comments) for the boards you pick. Private boards are never posted unless you select them.

  • Task links pasted in Slack unfurl with the title, status, assignee, and due date.
  • The **Create task in Taskeni** message shortcut turns a Slack message into a task, filed as the Taskeni user with the same email.

GitHub pull requests

Mention a task key like TSK-12 in a pull request's title, branch name, or description, and the pull request appears on that task with its state. Optionally, mark tasks done when a linked pull request merges: the task moves to the board's completion list. Setup is a repository webhook; Taskeni gives you the URL and secret.

Email to task and request forms

Two ways to turn requests into tasks without retyping them.

  • **Email to task:** every board can have a private address. Forward or send an email to it and it becomes a task: the subject is the title, the message is the description, and attachments become files. You get a reply with the link. Mail is accepted only from workspace members who can see the board, and only when it passes sender checks (DMARC, or SPF and DKIM), so a forged sender can't create tasks.
  • **Request forms:** a public page for a board that anyone with the link can fill in, no account needed. Requests include a title, details, an optional due date and file, and any custom fields you choose. The requester gets a receipt and an email when the task is done. Turn the form off and the link closes immediately.

REST API and webhooks

Create a personal API token in Settings → API & AI agents. Tokens work in one workspace, are scoped to read or read & write, act as you with the same permissions as the app, and can be revoked at any time. Taskeni stores only a hash of each token.

  • Endpoints to list boards, read a board summary, list and search tasks, read one task, create and update tasks, and post comments.
  • Webhooks send signed JSON (HMAC-SHA256) for task created, updated, moved, completed, reopened, and deleted, and comment created. Failed deliveries retry for about 15 hours, and each webhook keeps a delivery log.

Calendar feed (iCal)

Subscribe to the tasks assigned to you, by due date, in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. The link is private to you; if you lose it, create a new one and the old one stops working.

Common questions

Are integrations included on the Free plan?

Yes. Slack, GitHub, email-to-task, request forms, webhooks, the REST API, the calendar feed, and the MCP server are on every plan. See pricing.

Who can connect Slack or GitHub?

Workspace owners and admins connect integrations and set up webhooks. Anyone can create their own API token and calendar link.

Can the REST API delete tasks?

No. The API can read, create, and update tasks and post comments. Deleting stays in the app, where it goes to Trash for 30 days.

How do I verify a webhook really came from Taskeni?

Each delivery carries a Taskeni-Signature header with a timestamp and an HMAC-SHA256 of the timestamp and body, made with the webhook's signing secret (shown once when you add the webhook). Compute the same signature on your side and compare.

Can people outside my workspace email tasks in?

Not by email. Email to task only accepts mail from workspace members. For people outside the team, use a request form.

Is there a Zapier integration?

Not a dedicated one. Webhooks and the REST API work with any tool that can send and receive HTTP requests.
