Terms of Service

Last updated October 16, 2026

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Plain-language summary first; the full terms follow.

  • Taskeni is run by an independent developer. Questions go to support@taskeni.app.
  • Your content stays yours. We use it only to run Taskeni for you.
  • Don't use Taskeni to break the law, harm people, or attack the service.
  • Taskeni has a Free plan. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel, and are sold through Polar, our merchant of record.
  • AI helpers are optional and off until a workspace turns them on. AI output can be wrong, so review it before you apply it.
  • The Free plan has no uptime guarantee. You can export your data and delete your account at any time.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

"Taskeni", "we", and "us" mean the Taskeni service and the independent developer who runs it. "You" means the person using Taskeni. If you use Taskeni for a company or other organization, "you" also means that organization, and you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.

These terms cover the website at taskeni.app, the web app at app.taskeni.app, the Taskeni apps, the emails we send, and the developer features: the REST API, the MCP server, webhooks, the calendar feed, email-to-task, and request forms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Business customers can also read our data processing summary.

By creating an account or using Taskeni, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

  • You need an account to use the app. Use a real email address and keep it current. We use it for sign-in, security messages, and service emails.
  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • Keep your password and backup codes safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account, including through API tokens and apps you connect. We recommend turning on two-step verification.
  • One account per person. Don't share sign-ins.
  • If you think someone else has access to your account, email support@taskeni.app right away.

Workspaces and roles

Every workspace has an owner. Owners and admins decide who joins, what role each person has, which boards people can see, and settings such as AI helpers and integrations.

If you join a workspace that someone else owns, that owner (or the organization behind the workspace) controls the workspace's content, including what you add to it. They may be able to view, export, or remove that content.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law, or help anyone else do so;
  • upload content you don't have the right to share, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • upload malware, or use Taskeni to send spam or phishing, including through invitations, request forms, email-to-task, or webhooks;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or share content that sexually exploits children;
  • try to get into accounts, workspaces, or data that aren't yours;
  • probe, scan, or test our systems, except as our security page allows;
  • get around plan limits, rate limits, or security controls, or put an unreasonable load on the service;
  • resell Taskeni or offer it under another name without our written permission;
  • copy Taskeni to build a competing product.

Automated access is fine through the REST API and MCP server, within their limits.

If you break these rules, we may remove content or suspend access. When we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

4. Your content

"Your content" is what you and your team put into Taskeni: boards, tasks, comments, files, and everything else.

  • You keep all rights to your content.
  • You give us a limited license to host, store, copy, send, display, and process your content only as needed to run, secure, and support Taskeni for you. For example: showing tasks to your teammates, sending the notifications you've chosen, running search, and running AI helpers if your workspace turns them on.
  • That license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in our providers' backups until they're overwritten.
  • We don't sell your content, we don't show ads, and we don't use your content to train AI models.
  • You're responsible for your content and for having the right to share it. That includes personal data about other people that you put into Taskeni.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

5. Paid plans and billing

  • Taskeni has a Free plan and two paid plans, Pro and Business. See pricing for what each plan includes and costs. You'll see the price before you buy.
  • Polar is the merchant of record. Paid plans and AI credit packs are sold through Polar (polar.sh), which is the seller of record for your purchase. Polar takes the payment, issues invoices and receipts, and handles sales tax or VAT. Polar's own terms also apply to the purchase.
  • Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month or each year, depending on what you chose, until you cancel.
  • Per-member billing. Paid plans are billed per member of the workspace. Guests don't count as members and are free. When someone joins, they're added for the rest of the current period and you're charged for that part. When someone leaves, the difference comes back as a credit on your next bill.
  • Plan changes. Upgrades, such as Pro to Business or monthly to yearly, take effect right away and you're charged the difference for the rest of the period. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal.
  • Free trials. Where a plan offers a free trial, checkout needs a card. You're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Each workspace can have one trial.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Plan & billing. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and the workspace then moves to the Free plan. Your boards and tasks stay, but paid features stop and the Free plan's limits apply.
  • Price changes. We may change prices. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your next renewal.
  • Refunds. We don't refund partial periods, except where the law requires it. If you think you were charged by mistake, email support@taskeni.app and we'll look into it.
  • AI credits. AI use is measured in credits. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits that renews on the 1st of each month. Unused allowance doesn't carry over. Credits from AI credit packs are used after the monthly allowance, are non-refundable once used, and don't expire while the workspace exists.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may limit paid features until it's sorted out.

6. AI features

  • Taskeni's AI helpers are optional. Examples include turning notes into tasks, suggesting steps for a task, catching you up on a discussion, and writing a weekly recap.
  • AI helpers are off until a workspace owner or admin turns them on.
  • When they're on, the content a request needs is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the result. See our subprocessors.
  • AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Taskeni never applies AI suggestions on its own: you review them and choose what to apply. You're responsible for what you apply.
  • AI use counts against your workspace's AI credits.
  • Don't use the AI features to create unlawful or harmful content.

7. Integrations and third-party services

Taskeni can connect to services you choose, such as Slack, GitHub, calendar apps, AI assistants over MCP, and your own webhooks and API clients. When you connect one, you're telling us to send it the data it needs. For example, the Slack integration posts task titles, status, assignees, and due dates to the channel you pick.

Those services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for them. You can disconnect an integration, revoke an API token, or delete a webhook at any time in Settings.

8. Availability and changes to the service

  • We work to keep Taskeni available and fast, but the Free plan comes with no service level agreement and no uptime guarantee. Taskeni may be unavailable during maintenance, during outages at our providers, or because of events outside our control.
  • We may change, add, or remove features. If we remove a major feature that's part of a paid plan you're on, we'll tell you in advance.
  • We may set reasonable limits, such as rate limits, storage limits, and file sizes, to keep the service working for everyone.

9. Ending your use, and your data

  • You can stop using Taskeni at any time. You can export a workspace as JSON from Settings → Data, and download your personal data from Settings → Account.
  • You can delete your account from Settings → Account. This removes your sign-in and takes you off every workspace and board. Comments you wrote in workspaces with other members stay there, credited to "Deleted user". Workspaces where you're the only member are deleted with your account. If you own a workspace that has other members, make someone else the owner first.
  • A workspace owner can delete the workspace, which deletes its boards, tasks, and comments.
  • We may suspend or close an account or workspace if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if continuing would put other people or the service at risk. Unless the law or a security risk prevents it, we'll tell you first and give you at least 30 days to export your data.
  • If we ever shut Taskeni down, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice so you can export your data.

Sections 4 (the parts about responsibility for content), 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 continue to apply after your use ends.

10. Disclaimers

Taskeni is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We don't promise that Taskeni will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own exports of anything you can't afford to lose.

Some places don't allow these disclaimers, so some of them may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill;
  • our total liability for all claims relating to Taskeni is limited to the greater of what you paid for Taskeni in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Indemnity

If you use Taskeni for an organization, that organization agrees to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising from third-party claims about its content or its breach of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version on this page with a new date. For material changes, we'll tell account holders by email or in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect, unless a change is required by law sooner.

If you keep using Taskeni after the changes take effect, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using Taskeni and delete your account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction over disputes about these terms or Taskeni.

Before starting a formal dispute, please email support@taskeni.app. We'll try to resolve it with you informally within 30 days.

If you're a consumer, you keep any protections that the mandatory laws of your country give you.

15. General

  • These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any data processing agreement we sign with you, are the whole agreement between you and us about Taskeni.
  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce one of our rights straight away, we haven't given it up.
  • You can't transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer them as part of a sale or transfer of Taskeni, and we'll tell you if that happens.
  • Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
