Changelog

What's new in Taskeni.

New features, improvements, and fixes, newest first.

  1. New

    Pro and Business are here

    • Paid plans are on sale. Pro is $6 per member a month billed yearly, or $7.50 month to month. Business is $12 billed yearly, or $15 month to month. Payments are handled by Polar, our merchant of record, which also takes care of sales tax and VAT. See pricing.
    • A 14-day free trial of Pro, once per workspace. Checkout asks for a card, and you aren't charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
    • Billing that follows your team. You pay per member, and guests are free. When someone joins, they're added for the rest of the period; when someone leaves, the difference comes back as a credit on your next bill.
    • Settings → Plan & billing. Owners and admins can upgrade, switch between monthly and yearly, change plans, or cancel. Invoices, receipts, and card changes are under Billing details. See Upgrading to Pro or Business.
    • AI credit packs on every plan: 1,000 credits for $4, 5,000 for $20, or 10,000 for $40. Pack credits are used after the monthly allowance and don't expire.
  2. NewRolling out

Rolling out: share links, reports, smart search, the assistant, and native apps

These are rolling out over the coming weeks. We'll note here when each one is available to everyone.

    • Client share links (Pro and Business): anyone who can edit a board can create a read-only link (app.taskeni.app/s/…). Visitors see the board's lists and tasks as a board or a list, with titles, due dates, labels, checklist progress, and optionally assignee names. Comments, files, time logs, and private boards are never shown. Links can expire after 7, 30, or 90 days or never, can be revoked at any time, show a view count, and are hidden from search engines. Visitors don't need to sign in.
    • Reports (Pro and Business): cycle time (median and 85th percentile), throughput, and the overdue trend, per board or for the whole workspace, over the last 4, 12, or 26 weeks. Filter by board, assignee, and label, and download any chart as CSV.
    • Smart search (every plan, when AI helpers are on): search finds tasks and comments by meaning as well as by words, in ⌘K and on the search page. While AI is off, search stays keyword-only and nothing is sent to the model provider.
    • Ask Taskeni (every plan, uses AI credits): press ⌘J and ask in plain language. The assistant answers questions about work you can see and proposes changes. Nothing changes until you review the list and click Apply, and one Undo reverts the whole batch. It never deletes anything or changes permissions or settings.
    • iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps are built and coming soon, with a native Home (overdue, today, and the next 7 days), task details, Inbox, search, offline quick add, widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, the Share sheet, push notifications, and a Live Activity for the running timer on iPhone. The Mac app adds a menu bar quick add. Until they're in the App Store, install Taskeni from your browser.
  3. NewImproved

    Plans and AI credits

    • Plans. Free is available now: up to 10 members (guests don't count), 3 guests per board, unlimited boards and tasks, and every view and integration. Pro and Business are coming soon. See pricing.
    • AI credits. AI helpers are now measured in credits that follow what each request actually costs, instead of a fixed token cap. Free workspaces get 100 credits a month to try them. Owners and admins see this month's use in Settings → Workspace. We explain the details in how we price AI.
    • Faster workspaces. Boards with long histories load faster: live updates now cover current work, and comments and history load separately.
    • Fixed: for a small number of people, the daily digest email could stop them from signing in. This is fixed.
  4. Improved

Groundwork for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps

    • The coming native apps can link to your account after you tap Allow once in the app. Each linked device is listed in Settings and can be removed at any time.
    • Notifications can now be delivered to Apple devices, and the apps can show your unread count and the timer you have running.
  5. New

Work faster: shortcuts, ⌘K, bulk actions, Undo, and Calendar view

    • Keyboard shortcuts, with a sheet of all of them behind ?.
    • ⌘K command palette for actions, boards, and tasks, including matches in descriptions and comments.
    • Select several tasks with X or ⇧/⌘-click and move, assign, label, or reschedule them at once.
    • Undo with ⌘Z or from the toast after a change. Deleted tasks go to Trash for 30 days.
    • Smart quick add: type "Review launch email tomorrow 3pm @lena #email !high" and the date, time, assignee, label, and priority are filled in as chips you can turn back into text. Paste several lines to create one task per line.
    • Calendar view for every board, with month, week, and agenda layouts. Drag a task to another day to reschedule it.
    • Quick filters (Mine, Due this week, Hide done), and each board remembers your last view, filters, and sort.
    • Task details: Markdown in descriptions and comments, an @mention picker, pasted screenshots, feedback pins on images, move or copy to another board, and Copy for AI.
    • Home: a This week review of what was done, what slipped, and what's due next. Members: a Workload view by person and week.
    • The search field now sits on the left of the top bar, with results opening under it.
  6. New

Integrations, the MCP server, and the REST API

    • MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Claude Code: ten tools, five reads and five writes, and nothing can delete. Approve each assistant on a consent page, or create an agent API key. See MCP.
    • REST API with personal tokens, scoped to one workspace and to read or read & write.
    • Webhooks signed with HMAC-SHA256, retried for about 15 hours, with a delivery log.
    • Slack: post board updates to a channel, unfurl task links, and turn a message into a task.
    • GitHub: pull requests that mention a task key show on the task, and can mark it done when they merge.
    • Email to task: every board can have its own address.
    • Request forms: a public page per board where anyone can submit a request, no account needed.
    • Calendar feed: subscribe to your assigned tasks in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook.
    • Board automations: simple rules with one trigger and up to three actions, with ready-made recipes.
    • Import from Trello (a board's JSON export) and CSV import and export.
  7. NewSecurity

Email, notifications, AI helpers, dark theme, and the installable app

    • Email: invitations, email confirmation, a daily digest at 8:00 in your time zone (or every notification, or off), and one-click unsubscribe.
    • Forgot password now emails an eight-digit code. Resetting your password signs out your other sessions.
    • Push notifications in the browser and an unread badge on the app icon.
    • Install Taskeni as an app from your browser, with an offline shell.
    • Dark theme, following your system setting or chosen per person, with readable contrast in both themes.
    • AI helpers (off until a workspace owner or admin turns them on): Catch me up on a task or on Home, Suggest steps, notes into tasks, and a weekly recap. They use Google Gemini and show results for you to review before anything changes.
  8. New

Taskeni opens: boards, tasks, and two-step sign-in

    The first version of Taskeni.

    • Workspaces and boards with Board, List, Table, and Timeline views, templates, labels, completion lists, and task limits.
    • Tasks with keys like TSK-12, checklists, subtasks, blocked-by links, custom fields, time tracking with estimates, reminders, recurring tasks, comments with reactions, and file uploads.
    • Home, My tasks, notifications, and team activity.
    • Members and guests, with invitations by email or link, and private boards.
    • Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app and ten backup codes.
  9. ImprovedFixed

    Polish and accessibility

    • Better contrast for status text, priority labels, and the notification badge.
    • Dialogs are labeled and keep keyboard focus; Escape closes previews and the task view.
    • Layouts adjust better on small screens, and motion respects your reduced-motion setting.
    • A reconnecting banner appears when you're offline, and your edits are sent when the connection returns.
    • Sign-in and account fields work with password managers and one-time code autofill.
    • Fixed task tabs, the two-step sign-in QR code, and onboarding after accepting an invitation.

Set up your first board in about a minute.

Free for small teams. Invite people when you're ready, and export your data whenever you like.
