Integrations and API
Connect an AI assistant with MCP
Taskeni's MCP server lets AI assistants work with your tasks. They act as you, see only what you can see, and can't delete anything.
- Go to Settings → API & AI agents and copy the MCP server URL.
- Add it to your assistant:
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Taskeni, paste the URL, and connect.
- ChatGPT: turn on developer mode in ChatGPT's settings, create a connector, and paste the URL.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http taskeni <MCP server URL>, then run/mcpto sign in through your browser. - Cursor: add the server to
.cursor/mcp.jsonusing the snippet shown in Taskeni.
- Taskeni opens a page that asks Allow an agent to use Taskeni? and shows the access the agent asked for. If the agent shows you a code, enter it there. Click Allow, or Deny.
Use an API key instead
For agents that can't sign in through a browser:
- Click Create agent API key.
- Enter a Name and choose Access: Read only or Read & write.
- Click Create key and copy it. It isn't shown again.
- Send it as
Authorization: Bearer <key>. Taskeni shows the full Claude Code command with the header.
What assistants can do
Ten tools: five that read and five that write.
- Read: List my tasks, Search tasks, Get task, List boards, Board summary.
- Write: Create task, Update task, Move task, Add comment, Complete task.
Good to know
- Nothing an assistant does can delete data.
- Every connection is listed under Connected agents, with when it was added and last used. Click Disconnect to cut one off right away.
- Read-only access is enough for questions like "what's due this week?" For an API key, choose Read & write only if you want the assistant to change tasks.
- MCP is included on every plan.
