Integrations and API
Slack
The Slack integration keeps a channel up to date on a board's work and lets you file a message as a task without leaving Slack.
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find Slack.
- Click Connect Slack.
- In Slack, pick the channel Taskeni should post to and allow access.
- Back in Taskeni, under Post these events, tick New tasks, Tasks moved, Completed, and Comments as you like.
- Under From these boards, keep All boards everyone can see, or untick it and pick boards.
- Choose where "Create task from Slack" adds to, then click Save.
Turn a message into a task
- In Slack, open the message's menu (the … button).
- Choose Create task in Taskeni.
The task is created on the board you chose in step 6 (or your starred or first board), as the Taskeni member with the same email as your Slack account.
Link previews
Paste a Taskeni task link in the connected Slack workspace and it unfurls with the task's title, status, assignee, and due date.
Good to know
- Only owners and admins can connect, change, or disconnect Slack.
- Private boards are never posted unless you pick them.
- Link previews only show tasks on boards everyone in the workspace can see.
- To stop, click Disconnect. Taskeni stops posting, link previews stop, and the message shortcut stops working.
- One Slack connection per Taskeni workspace. Slack is included on every plan.
