Integrations and API
GitHub pull requests
Connect a GitHub repository so pull requests show up on the tasks they're for, with their current state.
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find GitHub.
- Click Connect GitHub. Taskeni shows a Payload URL and a Secret. Copy the secret now; it isn't shown again.
- In GitHub, open the repository (or organization) → Settings → Webhooks → Add webhook.
- Paste the payload URL, set the content type to application/json, and paste the secret.
- Under "Which events", choose Let me select individual events and tick Pull requests.
- Save. Back in Taskeni, click Done.
Link a pull request to a task
Mention the task key, like TSK-12, in the pull request's title, branch name, or description. The pull request then appears under Pull requests on that task, with its state: open, draft, merged, or closed.
Complete tasks on merge
Turn on Mark tasks done when a linked PR merges. When a linked pull request merges, the task moves to its board's completion list, acting as the person who connected GitHub.
Good to know
- Only owners and admins can connect or change GitHub.
- One pull request can link to several tasks by mentioning several keys.
- Lost the secret? Click Reconnect to make a new one, then paste it into GitHub's webhook settings. The old secret stops working right away.
- Disconnect stops new links. Links already on tasks stay. Remove the webhook in GitHub too.
- GitHub is included on every plan.
