Getting started
Import tasks from a CSV file
Any tool that can export a spreadsheet can bring its tasks into Taskeni through a CSV file.
- Export your tasks from the other tool as CSV.
- In Taskeni, open the board you want the tasks on.
- Open the board settings menu (the sliders button in the board header) → Import CSV.
- Choose the file.
- Taskeni matches columns by name and shows how many tasks it found, plus any columns it ignored. Click Import tasks.
Columns Taskeni reads
- A title column, named Title, Name, or Task. This one is required.
- The list (or a status column), start and due dates, a due time, assignees, labels, priority, and a description.
Assignees are matched to people in your workspace, and labels to the board's labels.
Export tasks to CSV
- To export one board, open its settings menu → Export CSV.
- To export every task you can see in the workspace, go to Settings → Data → Spreadsheets → Export CSV.
The file opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets, and includes each task's key, title, board, list, status, assignees, labels, priority, dates, estimate, time tracked, description, and custom fields.
Good to know
- Each import goes into one board. Import from that board's menu so the tasks land in the right place.
- Right after an import, the confirmation message has an Undo button.
- Coming from Trello? Use the Trello importer instead; it also brings checklists and archived cards. See Import a Trello board.
- For a full copy of a workspace, use Settings → Data → Export workspace as JSON. See Export your data.
