Getting started
Import a Trello board
Move a Trello board over in a couple of minutes instead of rebuilding it card by card. Boards come across one at a time.
- In Trello, open the board menu → Print, export and share → Export as JSON, and save the file.
- In Taskeni, go to All boards and click Import from Trello. You can also use Settings → Data → Import Trello JSON, or the import option while you set up a new account.
- Choose the downloaded file.
- Check the summary of what was found and what stays behind, then confirm.
Taskeni creates a new board and opens it.
What comes across
- The board's open lists, in order
- Cards as tasks, with their descriptions, checklists, labels, start dates, and due dates
- Cards marked complete in Trello, or sitting in a list named like "Done", as completed tasks
- Archived cards, as archived tasks
- Assignees, when they match someone in your workspace by email or name
- Links attached to cards, added to the task description
What stays in Trello
- File attachments and comments
- Custom fields and Power-Ups
- Archived lists and the cards in them
- Assignees who aren't in your Taskeni workspace
Good to know
- Invite your team before importing, so more assignees can be matched. See Invite your team.
- Importing is included on every plan.
- From other tools, export to CSV and import that instead. See Import tasks from a CSV file.
